Aim High

Think big and act boldly. Aim high and dream big! Small desire produces small results, just as a small fire produces little heat.

Some cool quotes on this concept:

"Fortune favors the bold but abandons the timid." -Latin Proverb

"When you think big, your results are big." -Thomas J. Vilord

"The person who goes farthest is generally the one who is willing to do and dare. The sure-thing boat never gets far from shore." -Dale Carnegie

"Seize this very minute! Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it." -John Aster

War not Human nature

New study of tribal societies finds warfare not innate concept but a recent phenomenon invented by so called 'Civilised' societies.

Researchers found that some of the most 'primitive' people on Earth were actually quite peaceful compared to modern nations.

What doe the above indicate ?

Education and Development have corrupted human societies resulting in greed and conflicts.

Merit

Favouritism and Nepotism are the products of our greed for money and power.

People corrupt the otherwise clean system to serve their selfish needs. More damage is done by the politicians with ulterior motive.

That is why undeserving and incompetent people come to occupy many vital posts of any organisation, be it private or public.

In short, Incompetent people are made Competent Authorities.

The outcome is the permanent collapse of the administration resulting in chaos and loss to the general public.

Trap

A group of five men set up a trap to get deer for food when they were looking for rare wood that is used in making incense and perfume.

Accidentally a tiger hub got into to the trap. This irritated five tigers in the area to attack the men.

Fearing the angry tigers, these men climbed the nearby tree. But one met with the fate by falling from the broken tree branch. The terrible tigers mauled him to death.

However, other four men remained on top of the tree without food but survived through rainwater. However, the tigers waited below the tree.

Later the animals were chased away by the rescue team to save the fortunate four men who starved to almost death.

MORAL : Never venture into others territory for the sake of greed to make money or power.

Rules

Rules must remain to rule the constituents or players but not to rule out the very existence of the players.

Too much always spoils anything.

If you set rules for each and everything, nobody will like you.

Rules should be heathy to motivate the subjects to take interest.

Then only, growth and development is possible.

If you put more conditions for your child to grow, he will never like to grow.

Some countries have a complex system of regulations which actually create a non-positive climate for any new investment or trade to flourish.

Guts

Talents alone cannot get you success. You should have efforts and guts to perform.

Many a person fall in the first category. That's why they miserably fail.

To put it differently , those who have grit and determination turned out to be great Achievers in life.

Steve Job of Apple has once said"One who has courage to follow his heart will succeed".

Rare Life

Life is rare
Live with care.

That's the beautiful slogan I noticed in a residential construction site.
Actually it is intended for the safety of the people working in the site.

I feel it's the value ridden slogan to understand how precious is our life.

Let us live, care and help others to live in peace and joy.

Plants talk

Plants and trees have life like us.
They talk and grow like us.
Their life is visible in the form of growth and their wilting when soil or air becomes dry due to
heat . They like sunlight very much as their bending and creeping towards the sunlight confirms.

They also talk secretly.
Research study in China has found that when a tomato plant gets infected with leaf blight( a condition where the leaves wear a charred and dry appearance), nearby plants start activating genes that help ward off the infection. This occurred even if all airflow between the plants has been eliminated.

So treat every grass, plants and trees with love and care.

What Bhagvadgita says about Mind

Warrior Arjuna said: O God, the mind is an unsteady thing.Hence it is unrealistic to expect evenness out of it. It is easier to control the wind than to try controlling the mind. I how to exercise control over it?.

The Lord Krishna said: No doubt, the unsteady mind is difficult to control. However, it can be done so by repeated practice and detachment from the environ".

Cleanliness

Nobody likes a filthy and shabby place.
Similarly, goodness will come to us only when we get rid of the undesirable habits like anger, greed ,revenge, bluff,etc...

Our mind becomes godly when we possess clean and true habits.

God resides in you once the purity and sacrifice enter into the mind.

Prayer

Prayers are meant for claiming welfare .

But many people behave selfishly in this respect as they pray for fulfilment of their self interest like success in studies, winning contracts and deals and for good Heath and wealth.

Community Prayers are done for the welfare of an individual or the society.

Rarely ,very few individuals like Saints and Religious leaders pray for the welfare of others or the communities.

Why an individual should do the prayer for the welfare of all life forms that exist on the earth.
This will make us a Broad-minded person without selfishness. Ultimately this will breed fraternity and peace for all of us.

Air Pollution

WHO estimates say air pollution is responsible for over a million premature deaths worldwide every year.

Short-term exposure to major air pollutants seems to increase heart failure risks

This is the finding from a review of data collected in 12 countries published in The Lancet Wednesday, a medical journal.

The study found that a modest dip in the levels of fine particulate matter found in exhaust fumes and industrial air pollutants could prevent about 8000 heart failure hospitalisation s and save more than $300 million in the US alone.

Perception

Light has no colour.
But when seen through a prism or water drop, different colours are exhibited.
So it the interference that makes the difference.
Likewise, God is one but the different religions create the unwanted hatred and discrimination.

One who realises this truth is bound to love everything in this world.

Fat Popualtion

The Fattest countries in the world are measured as the percentage of obese adults to the country population.
1. Mexico  - 32.8%
2.  USA    -  31.8%
3.  Syria    -  31.6%

And the Thinnest country is Japan with 4.5%

12% of the World's total population is obese.

This is based on the latest UN report.

Whose mistake anyway ?

This is an interesting news item I read recently.

A goose was arrested for "pecking people".
Because a woman made a complaint with the local police that the goose had attacked her five-year old daughter and the animal was terrorising the neighbourhood.

But Animal rights activists were outraged and demanded immediate release of the bird and an inquiry into this.

Might be the animal behaved in its own natural way in contrast to human beings system.
A simple case of misunderstanding of the animal's mind.

Wimbledon

The name has become synonymous of the sport Tennis.

Such a legacy surrounds this British place.

It has produced many champions belonging to other nations.

But the sheer handwork and grit of Andy Murray earned him the coveted Grand slam .

That too after a very long gap of 77 years, he won the championship for England.

Salute the dedication of this sportsman.

Great works never go unrewarded though belatedly.

Under estimate

Each and everything in our world is useful in one way or other.

So do not underestimate anything.

Even a small grass serves as the feed for small worm and insects. Also it binds the earth.
The tiny prickle or needle helps us to stitch the cloth or button.
Slimy earthworm protects and enriches our earth : in turn, other life forms including us.

Even your enemy not to be undervalued .

Give and take value from everything that is around you.

Eat Fresh

Use fresh water, vegetables and other food . That too, locally available food is the best for our healthy life.

Shun the processed and canned foods or drinks to the possible extent.
Because, the stored and frozen food always undergoes the chemical changes and become unfit for consumption.

Remember, Technology always comes with a cost.
That's why organic farming and its products are advocated of late.

Smart Way

Food carriers, popularly known as Dabbawalas of Mumbai, India have a smart way of serving the people for peace and happiness.

About 120 tons of food is transported every day by these Dabbawalas but 16 tons of this food is wasted on a day.

Smart is the Dabbawalas Foundation who came up with the unique concept of "share my dabba". Those who have left over food in their lunch boxes can simply paste a red "Share" sticker on their dabba.

Once segregated based on red mark, the food left over in the dabbas is passed on to the volunteers who feed 2 lake hungry children in Mumbai.

Punctuality

Punctuality is alright but not at the cost of other's inconvenience and happiness.

It's better to be late than never. Speaks out and express rather than feeling sorry later. Consulting a doctor even after the disease is better instead of suffering infinitely.

Again better to be late than to be Mr/Ms.Late.
Driving rashly to reach in time is a foolish act.

Life is precious when compared to time.
Happiness is more important to a person whose life is nearing end
